Grand Slam Pool

Our Grand Slam pool, another popular pool is now open for the 2012 season. Entries close April 4th at 6pm EST.

The pool covers the following 4 Major tournaments :

Each Tournament field will be divided into performance groups based on World Tour Rankings on the Monday of the week preceding each event. This is a contest of skill that requires contestants to select 2 different golfers from each group.

Total Player Earnings of contestants selection's over the 4 tournament will determine winners. 80% of funds are paid out for the overall winners and 20% will be paid out for the specific tournament winners.

The Prize payouts, will be as follows:

* First Place 45%
* Second Place 25%
* Third Place 10%
* Masters Winner 5%
* U.S. Open Winner 5%
* The Open Winner 5%
* PGA Winner 5%

A total of 10 golfers (5 groups) will be selected in 3 of the 4 events. The Masters because of its reduced field will only require 8 golfers (4 groups) to be selected.

You will make selections for each tournament and you only can use the same golfer in 2 of the 4 tournaments.

You may select amateur golfers from the tournament fields where applicable. While they may not receive earnings from the tournament. you will receive in our pool the equivalent earnings based on their final position in said tournament.

In the event that a golfer withdraws prior to start of play or does not start in a tournament, participants who have selected such golfers will be provided with the highest ranked eligible golfer from same group. Such selections must meet the criteria of not having being selected more than twice previously. 

A golfer who withdraws after having started play will not be replaced with a substituted player.

If selections are not received in time for any tournament you will be provided with the highest ranked eligible golfers from each group. Such selections must meet the criteria of not having being selected in more than twice previously.

The Tournament field will be published on the Monday morning preceding Tournament play. The presence of other players or changes in the Tournament field after it has been published shall in no way affect the outcome of the Tournament.

An email will be sent to each participant requesting player selections to be submitted. Selections including changes will be accepted up until 6pm EST on the day preceding start of play. It is recommended that contestants review their selections on the PGA Tour site at http://www.pgatour.com prior to the deadline.

No responsibility will be taken for pool registrations or contestant's selections which are lost, delayed, damaged, not received properly on the web site or misdirected in any other manner in the mail or any other electronic means including the Internet. 

Entry fee:  
The entry fee for this pool is $40 Canadian ($10 per event) payable in 2 installments of $20 on April 1st & June 1st.

Payment by cheque, money order & bank drafts are also accepted by mail and must be postmarked before start of play. Payment can be sent to the following address:

Payment must be sent before start of play of the Masters tournament. Any contestant whose cheque is returned unpaid will be subject to immediate loss of all entries for such contestant from all pools.

Entries: There will be no limit of the number of entries to the Contest. Contestants may enter the pool as many times as they wish, provided they pay the entry fee of $40 for each of their entries.

Players Earnings in $US currency from the PGA Tour website on the day following close of tournament play will be used to determine results a source believed to be reliable.

There is a 10% pool administration fee.

All entries become the property of the Contest Administrator and none will be returned.

This pool is neither affiliated with nor endorsed by the PGA Tour or any other organization.

The Pool Administrator reserves the right to disqualify any contestant or to withdraw or amend the contest at any time in its absolute discretion in case of error, technical problem or any matter interfering with the conduct of the pool as contemplated by these rules.

The decisions of the Pool Administrator are final on all matters of fact, interpretation, eligibility, procedure and fulfillment. By entering this contest you acknowledge acceptance of all pool rules and agree to be bound by them.
