Weekly Elimination Pool

Our Weekly Elimination pool, another popular pool is now closed for the 2010 season. Entries closed August 1st, 2010 at 6pm EST.

The pool commences with the WGC Bridgestone Invitational and concludes with the Children's Miracle Network Classic.

This is a contest of skill requiring contestants to select 1 golfer each week. You can only select a player once throughout the contest and you cannot select the defending tournament champion.

Your weekly selection must finish in the top 25 and ties to advance otherwise you are eliminated for the remainder of that segment. The final contestant left standing wins the pot which will be $10 times the number of participants. 

The pool is divided into 2 distinct segments and there will be payouts for each segment. Once the first winner has been declared the pool continues the following week with the second segment.

If there are no remaining players to make the top 25 then the segment is over. The person who picked the player that finishes best is declared the winner. If two or more contestants pick the same player then they split the pot evenly. 

If it gets down to only 2 people who have survived, then the winner is the one who does best that week. Ties are decided by the one who had the best last round. If both contestants pick the same player then they split the pot evenly. 

In weeks where 2 tournaments are being played, selections are required in each event. Results will be calculated after each tournament in the order stated above to determine winners. Should only 2 people be left after either event, then the one who does best is declared the winner. Ties are decided by the one who has the best last round. If both contestants pick the same player then they split the pot evenly. 

You will be provided with the highest ranked eligible golfer from the tournament field should you fail to submit your selection on time for a specific tournament. Such selections will meet the criteria of not having being selected previously.

In the event that your selection withdraws prior to start of play or fails to start in a specific tournament you will be provided with the highest ranked eligible golfer from the tournament field . Participants who have selected a player who withdraws after having commenced play will not be provided with an alternate selection.

An email will be sent weekly to each contestant requesting player selections. Player selections including changes will be accepted up until 6pm EST on the day preceding start of play. The presence of other players or changes in the Tournament field after selections have been submitted shall in no way affect the outcome of any Tournament.

No responsibility will be accepted for pool registrations or contestant's selections which are lost, delayed, damaged, not received properly on the web site or misdirected in any other manner in the mail or any other electronic means including the Internet. 

Entry Fee: 
The entry fee for this pool is $20 Canadian and payment must be sent before start of play to participate in this pool.

Interac E-Mail Money Transfer and PayPal are the preferred methods of payment for this pool. Payment by cheque, money order & bank drafts are also accepted and are to be payable to "Séamus Maher" and sent by mail or courier to:

Any contestant whose cheque is returned unpaid will be subject to immediate loss of all entries for such contestant from all pools.

There is a 10% pool administration fee.

Entries: There will be no limit of the number of entries to the Contest. Contestants may enter the pool as many times as they wish, provided they pay the entry fee of $20 for each of their entries.

All entries become the property of the Contest Administrator and none will be returned.

This pool is neither affiliated with nor endorsed by the PGA Tour or any other organization.

The Pool Administrator reserves the right to disqualify any contestant or to withdraw or amend the contest at any time in its absolute discretion in case of error, technical problem or any matter interfering with the conduct of the pool as contemplated by these rules.

The decisions of the Pool Administrator are final on all matters of fact, interpretation, eligibility, procedure and fulfillment. By entering this contest you acknowledge acceptance of all pool rules and agree to be bound by them.
